Down On High Arches

As for the future of America in 2011 I am forced to reiterate one of my most redundant, howbeit, important messages for this nation. It is about refocusing, returning and repenting. It is the three Rs of our collective spiritual and national life. It cannot be accomplished by constantly centering in on the economy while we are slithering deeper into a dark moral morass where anything goes as long as you don’t step on any toes. (Courtesy of your local and national PC proponents) The GEL-Nimbus 14 by ASICS comes with a number of features. Here is a brief rundown of the products feature set, see the full list here.

Imagine heavy pressured writing. This writer’s major drives are physical (try writing this hand and see how much strength it requires). He is materialistic, forceful, and rarely modest. At work, if perseverance is necessary, he is the man for the job, for he rarely gives up. He has natural energy and is determined to succeed. He enjoys being among people, is an extrovert, and prefers a “fast” crowd. The light-pressured writer can have an occasional heavier stroke. In that case, though he may be sensitive, he probably is prone to sudden outbursts of temper and lacks patience, expressed by the sudden appearance of the heavy strokes.

Prescription shoe inserts have been used by physicians for over thirty years to provide stabilization and support to feet whose structure and shape cause numerous painful foot conditions. These devices work based on concepts developed by research begun in the 1960s to understand how the foot functions mechanically, and how that function can be altered to treat foot pain. This article discusses how these orthotic devices work, and how they differ from store-bought inserts. Try not to buy just for color, style or brand name. Shoes can make a statement, but you do not want your statement to be, “I went for the style but can’t run a mile.”

The Plantar Fascia contracts and becomes tight while in rest periods such as sleeping or sitting. However during initial movement or when one suddenly gets up, the Fascia must quickly expand to the rapid application of the weight, thereby resulting in micro-tearing the ligaments and the pain for a few minutes. However it is advisable to undergo long-term treatment, which have been found to be quite effective as the Plantar Fascia excessively stretches due to over-pronation (fallen arches) and tightening of the calf muscle and ligaments and the above-mentioned remedial measures assist in relieving heel pain for a short-term only.

A set of x-rays, a complete physical exam which may include nerve testing, muscle strength testing and a gait exam (watching you walk). Sometimes a referral to a neurologist or more in depth nerve testing is needed. Sometimes a brace will be given or constructed if muscle weakness or instability is present. A complete family history is also important in reaching the correct diagnosis as high arch feet often run in families. Fit – Choose a shoe that fits in snugly. Your heels should fit well into the shoe. However, make sure that there is at least some free space, around one-fourth of an inch, between your toe and shoe.

Walking may be the simplest and most inexpensive form of exercise or activity because it requires no gadgets really. Well, except comfortable shoes. Comfortable walking shoes are a must, unless you want to end up with blisters on your feet or muscle pain. It is also important to determine your arch type or the alignment of the bones, muscles, ligaments and tendons in your feet You may not have noticed it but as you walk, these arches help distribute your body weight evenly across your feet These are like the suspension beam of your car, which adapt to various surfaces as it moves to limit impact or provide shock absorption.

If you are an under pronator or a supinator with high arch feet and you run on a frequent basis, then you will definitely love the ASICS GEL-Nimbus 14 running shoes. It will be your all purpose and the go-to running shoe. The shoes feel snug as you slip your feet in them and they enhance your natural stride. The laces are set slightly off centered in order to give the shoe a tighter grip over your feet. A fight probably isn’t in your future, but this routine can help you conquer other ‘opponents’ – skinny jeans, a 6 min/km run, and jiggle-free thighs are all yours for the taking.

A normal arch (or neutral, medium, average arch) has a defined shape with a visible upward curve when a person is standing. The instep (the top of the foot, just above the arch) should appear to be a gradual slope without a pronounced bump. This is the most common arch and foot type. This type of foot exhibits a normal, natural gait. The outside of the heel strikes the ground first. Then the foot rolls inward very slightly, coming in complete contact with the ground as it propels forward. The push-off occurs evenly across the ball-of-the-foot. The slight inward roll is natural and serves to absorb shock effectively.
